Welcome!

  • Welcome to the Laser/Photonics class at the Columbia Area Career Center!  In this program, students will learn all about photonics (the study of light).  Lasers are common in nearly every field and spectrum of our society.  Our program will teach students the basic fundamentals, show them how to safely operate a laser, and prepare them for a future in the field.  Students typically continue their education using our articulation program, which these classes transfer to several colleges.  Other students will use their laser certification to move directly into a career with many of the prestigious companies here in mid-Missouri, or across the globe.
